Yacht Charter Cape Town

Cruise Cape Town’s Magnificent Coastline

Experience a Yacht Charter in Cape Town

A yacht charter Cape Town through Chartercraft is private use of a crewed motor yacht, sailing yacht, power catamaran or sailing catamaran for two hours upwards, departing the V&A Waterfront Marina. About a dozen vessels are bookable on the platform, for groups of six to sixty-five guests. Every yacht is fully crewed and SAMSA-licensed. Sunset cruises, lunch charters, corporate events, birthdays, proposals and full-day runs to Cape Point in the right weather: that’s most of what people use them for.

What’s included with a Cape Town yacht charter

A standard Cape Town yacht charter quote includes:

  • Exclusive use of the vessel for the booked period
  • Skipper and crew, ratio matched to guest count
  • Fuel
  • Safety equipment and pre-departure briefing
  • Vessel sound system, Bluetooth-enabled

Quoted separately: catering, bar package, photographer, custom décor, wedding officiant, bespoke routing.

Private charter itineraries

A private booking can be shaped any number of ways. The bookings tend to be:

Sunset charter, two to three hours

Depart an hour before sunset. Out to Clifton and Camps Bay along the Atlantic Seaboard. Sun goes down behind the Twelve Apostles. Back into the Waterfront. Sunset cruise details.

Lunch cruise, three to four hours

Anchor off Clifton 4th or in Granger Bay. Lunch on board. Back via Green Point.

Coastal run, four to six hours

South to Hout Bay. Past Chapman’s Peak. The Duiker Island seal colony if you want a closer look. Back along the Atlantic Seaboard.

Cape Point, full day

Eight hours plus. Weather-dependent and only on motor yachts and the larger catamarans. Booked in advance because the right window doesn’t always come.

Corporate and private events

Team-builds, client entertaining, product launches, year-end functions. Tigger 2 Royale and A Beautiful Life take the largest groups.

Motor yacht charter Cape Town options

The motor yacht tier sits at the top of the fleet for finishings and crew ratio. Twelve guests on each, full galley, air-conditioned interior, premium bathrooms. Princess Skye (Premium), The Only One (Premium), Princess Emma (Premium), and the eighty-five-foot Princess Eve (on enquiry). The right pick for milestone celebrations, intimate luxury, families wanting stability under power, and any group of twelve or fewer who want the boat for the experience rather than the headcount.

The premium-tier luxury fleet

The premium-tier booking through Chartercraft means more than a premium boat. It means a hostess on board in addition to skipper and deckhand, a pre-charter call to walk through route, catering, music and any décor, champagne on arrival, and one charter manager who owns the file from enquiry through disembarkation. The luxury tier includes Princess Skye, The Only One, Princess Emma, the eighty-five-foot Princess Eve, the larger sailing catamaran A Beautiful Life, and the premium power cats. Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a yacht charter Cape Town cost?

A Cape Town yacht charter starts at the entry-level tier per hour on Le Cat (12-guest sailing catamaran, 2-hour minimum). Most popular boats sit in the mid-tier to premium-tier range. The fleet table above carries current rates.

Where do yacht charters leave from?

V&A Waterfront Marina. The exact berth gets confirmed when we send your final reservation.

How many guests can a yacht charter take?

Twelve on a small motor yacht. Sixty-five on Tigger 2 Royale. We match the boat to the group.

What's the difference between a yacht charter and a yacht rental?

At Chartercraft, the same fleet, the same rates. “Charter” describes two-hour-plus private bookings for an event or experience. “Rental” is the way many people search for hourly hire. See yacht rental.

Is catering included?

No. We arrange it separately through Cape Town caterers we’ve worked with for years.

Can I pick the route?

Yes. Talk it through with your skipper at the briefing. They’ll work around the wind and tide.

Do you teach sailing?

No. The boats are crewed; you’re a guest. For learn-to-sail, a Cape Town sailing school is your call.
