Private Charters Cape Town: Yachts, Helicopters & Boats
Private charters Cape Town through Chartercraft cover yachts, helicopter tours and boat cruises from the V&A Waterfront, all booked through one independent agency. We arrange about thirty vessels and aircraft with a vetted set of operators based at the Waterfront. Two-hour minimum on the boats, twelve minutes upwards in the air. Every booking confirmed within twenty-four hours, payment in Rand, signed terms before departure.
Why book private charters Cape Town through us
We don’t own the boats and we don’t fly the helicopters. That’s the point. When you ask for a yacht for ten guests on a Saturday afternoon in February, we don’t try to sell you the one we own. We pick the right vessel from the fleet of fourteen-plus at the V&A.
The boats are SAMSA-licensed (the South African Maritime Safety Authority). The aircraft are SACAA-maintained (Civil Aviation Authority). The skippers and pilots have been working this coastline long enough to know which side of Robben Island the wind sits on at four o’clock in summer.
What every charter includes:
- One booking manager from quote to disembarkation
- Per-hour pricing in Rand, no resort fees, no commission loading
- The right vessel matched to your group size and the weather on the day
- Flexible itineraries: sunset, lunch, proposal, corporate, whale-watching in season
- Card or EFT, secure payment, signed terms before departure

Boat charter Cape Town: private cruises
Boat charter Cape Town through us is private and crewed. Sunset cruises off Clifton, two-hour coastal runs along the Atlantic Seaboard, four-hour trips down to Hout Bay and Duiker Island for the seal colony, occasional full-day Cape Point voyages when the weather behaves. The shared scheduled boats run from the V&A too; we don’t book those.
Boat cruises. Or, by trip type: sunset cruise, boat trips, coastal yacht cruise.
Luxury charter Cape Town: the premium fleet
Luxury charter Cape Town means the higher tier of the fleet: forty- to eighty-five-foot motor yachts (Princess Skye, The Only One, Princess Emma, Princess Eve), the larger sailing catamarans (A Beautiful Life), and the premium power catamarans (Tigger 2 Royale, Eclipse). Champagne on arrival, hostess on board in addition to skipper and deckhand, pre-charter consultation on route and catering.
What’s on the route from the V&A
From the V&A Waterfront, in roughly the order a typical charter passes them:
- Table Mountain and the Twelve Apostles, visible from sea and air
- Clifton 1st through 4th, then Camps Bay
- Hout Bay, Chapman’s Peak Drive, Noordhoek
- Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope (full-day boat or 50-minute helicopter)
- Robben Island, a UNESCO World Heritage site, passed close on most cruises
- Duiker Island, with about a thousand Cape fur seals
- False Bay coastline: Muizenberg, Fish Hoek, Kalk Bay (helicopter only)
- The Cape Winelands: Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Durbanville (helicopter only)
